Pedagogy
Development is a smooth, continuous process of gradually adding more of the same skills that were already there to begin with corresponding to certain milestones and stages. It refers to qualitative changes in thinking, feeling and behaviour that characterise specific periods of development. Children change physically, emotionally, cognitively and socially. All these four interrelated domains bring about a holistic development of the child. JBA believes in child centric education which is open, dynamic and promotes a natural desire for learning. It involves the students in the teaching-learning process and empowers the students to be lifelong learners. Thus the school focuses on the individual needs of the students, addresses the abilities and learning style and makes students as collaborators in learning with the teachers as facilitators.
Cognitive Learning. The school has various academic activities which bring about development in students’ individual thinking and their intellectual capabilities. To enhance their ability to comprehend, analyse and apply their learning in real life situations, the school has taken innovative initiative for activity based learning to make the learning experience vibrant and enjoyable.
Learning By Doing. Activity based learning is aptly described as “A journey that starts in the head and reaches the heart.” The school encourages students’ initiatives to promote originality and creativity. Experiential learning is probably the most effective tool to impart effective and long lasting education. To develop life skills and mould our students into well rounded personalities the school exposes the students to a variety of learning experiences beyond the class room. Such experiences lend themselves to inculcating the qualities of leadership, self discipline, responsibility, sensitivity, empathy, gratitude, sharing and caring, etc.
